Larissa Kozij holds a degree in biochemistry and was previously a director at an educational publishing company. Her journey in meditation led her to live in Thailand and Indonesia, where she deepened her practice. She traveled throughout India, Nepal, Japan, Hong Kong, Laos, Australia, Turkey, France, Italy, Mexico, and across the United States, visiting significant sites and spending time in deep contemplation in nature.
Larissa draws on her studies in computer science, quantum mechanics, semiotics, psychology, literary theory, neuroscience, genetics, and more to blend scientific knowledge with profound meditative experience. She is currently writing a book and developing a card game to help people develop tranquility of awareness (śamatha), joy (pīti), and clear sight (vipassanā).
Larissa is honored to lead meditation sessions at Happy Monastery under the guidance of the Venerable Abbot Thích Tâm Nguyên.
Everyone experiences moments of clarity, insight, and intuition. These capacities are not reserved for a select few. They are innate human faculties that deepen naturally through the practice of mindfulness. With intention and training, we can learn to perceive the world more clearly and act in harmony with subtler levels of awareness.
Each of us is both the scientist and the subject of our own mind, and life itself is the grand experiment. While every path through the game of life is uniquely our own, there are timeless principles and practical heuristics that can help guide the journey. As we unlock the fuller potential of the mind, we gain the ability to play our most authentic, meaningful version of the game.
Together, we can cultivate a more mindful, connected, and conscious global community.
